“I want to run, I want to hide.

I wanna tear down the walls that hold me inside.

I wanna reach out and touch the flame,

where the streets have no name.”

“You got to admit it’s getting better, it’s getting better all the time!”

- lyrics from Getting Better by The Beatles

How to Begin:

Now, because poetry and song lyrics so often speak right to the heart of it, here are some lyrics that speak so well to this journey I coach my clients through…hope you enjoy!

“It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me”

lyrics from Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift

“First things first

I'ma say all the words inside my head,

I'm fired up and tired of the way that things have been,

…I was broken from a young age,

Taking my sulking to the masses,

Singing from heartache from the pain

Taking my message from the veins

Speaking my lesson from the brain

Seeing the beauty through the...

Pain.

You made me a believer.”

-select lyrics from Believer by Imagine Dragons

“I got my hands in my pockets, kicking these rocks

It's kinda hard to watch this life go by

I'm buying into skeptics

Skeptics mess with the confidence in my eyes

I'm seeing all the angles, thoughts get tangled

I start to compromise my life and my purpose

Is it all worth it?

Am I gonna turn out fine?”

-lyrics from Gotta Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer

“So, so what'cha, what'cha, what'cha want?

I said, "Where'd you get your information from" huh?

You think that you can front when revelation comes?”

-lyrics from So Whatcha Want by The Beastie Boys

“Show yourself,

Step into your power.

Throw yourself,

Into something new!

You are the one you've been waiting for,

All of your life!”

-lyrics from Show Yourself from Frozen II soundtrack

How do you measure the life of a woman or a man?

Measure your life in love!

-lyrics from Seasons of Love from Rent soundtrack

In their words…“This past year challenged my deepest sense of self. My self-concept had been fractured. And now, through my consistent time with Pete I am moving into a space where I am re-solidifying into someone beautiful with true acceptance. I now walk walk with authentic compassion for myself and for others. With Pete we work to understand the relationships between perception and reality, commitment and boundaries, accountability and kindness, thought and behavior. Creating space and new habits takes investment and guidance. I am forever grateful for Pete!”

- Aaron N.

“Spend all your time waiting, for that second chance.

For a break that would make it okay.

There's always some reason, to feel not good enough,

And it's hard at the end of the day.

(You) need some distraction, oh a beautiful release

Memories seep from (your) veins

Let (us) be empty, oh and weightless and maybe

(we)'ll find some peace tonight.

In the arms of the angel fly away from here,

From this dark cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear.

You are pulled from the wreckage, of your silent reverie.

You're in the arms of the angel, may you find some comfort here!”

-lyrics from Angel by Sarah McLachlan

In their words…“I started following Pete online and had a revelation that this coaching is going to take me to the next level.

Over the past few months of working with Pete I’ve really had an opportunity to see myself more fully.  I understand myself in a new way that has definitely been challenging at times but also opened the doors to more love and acceptance of me and and everyone I see.  I thought I was already loving me and everyone around me, but now I see with a new clarity that I can take that even further.

This self- kindness (has) made me a better parent, wife, friend and businesswoman.   I am so grateful to Pete for opening my eyes to my own potential to live with more love and gratitude!”

You were taught to believe that negative self talk as “the stick” would motivate you to be, do, achieve, love, grow….all the things in your life.

It’s not true, it is actually the exact opposite.

Everywhere you’ve been able to grow is through believing in yourself, supporting yourself, answering the calling from your higher self, trusting you, accepting and allowing.

So let’s get back to that! We’re gonna make that the new default setting in your life.

Self Kindness Life Coaching:

  • Live free from the looping negativity

  • Understand how to make powerful decisions on your own behalf

  • Follow your wisdom, inner guidance and higher self on your way to a fabulous, self kind life!

  • Feel worthy and safe, trusting yourself

So let’s get back to that!

I’ll help you step by step all along the way until you’re living that in your life!

Where to Begin:

My life coaching programs focus on:

  • Rewiring your brain,

  • De-programming old mindsets,

  • And shifting into & living from new, self affirming, upleveling perspectives.

What does this mean?

This means knowing how to say your honest “Yes” or “No” in any situation.

This means trusting your wants, desires and opinions.

This means stepping boldly towards your dreams, desires and goals.

This means deepening relationships or ending toxic ones.

This means setting boundaries with ease.

This means living from a place of calm and connection rather than worry and fear.

This means stopping the negative self talk and replacing it with self trust, inner confidence and self loving talk.

This means being of great service in the world from desire not obligation.

This means making money from work you love.

This means knowing and connecting with You understanding You.

This means ending people pleasing.

These are lifelong tools that will continue to serve you throughout the days, months and years that follow this coaching.  You will notice you’ll come back to them (or they will come back to you) allowing for more unfolding and deepening over time.  Because this coaching focuses on the primary source of discomfort in any situation, your own mind/ brain.

Practically, in the results of current and past clients, this looks like:

  • Asking for and getting a raise

  • Less drinking and numbing with watching TV

  • Better parenting with less yelling and shaming

  • More connected to spouse, friends & community

  • Healthier relationship to their money

  • More self confidence, feeling of belonging, taking up space

  • More self trust

  • Following life long dream - quitting job and getting training in alternative medicine

  • Shorter spin-out, self attack

  • More peace at family gatherings, and all family interactions

  • More quickly and easily know how to be of service to others

  • Noticing how and why you are reacting the way that you are

  • Less headaches

  • Better team management, better leadership

  • Saying “No” and “Yes” with honesty and without guilt, shame and resentment

  • Dancing like nobody’s watching

  • Celebrating what IS working more regularly

  • Seeing life as here to help, not a something that is testing your resolve

  • Comfortable to be “who I am”

Coaching consists of:

  1. Weekly One-On-One sessions

  2. personalized Client resources

  3. Continuous access to support

The power of the weekly, one-on-one format is that each session becomes a reflection of your larger, long term goals.  How do we achieve that?

  1. Each session begins with taking stock of where your mind is at that moment, at the beginning of the session.  We then will do the same taking stock with your physical experience(s) in that moment.

    • These practices strengthen your mind’s ability to be aware of its current thinking and the body’s response to that thinking.  This noticing ALONE can create big shifts in one’s life.

  2. Next, we move into either addressing an immediate need or situation, or, we look to the larger goals and desires from your desired coaching results.  We use and practice the tools of self inquiry, thought modeling, other thought work tools, conscious conversations, and simple mindfulness.

  3. Lastly, we again take time to notice the mind and the body, connecting to and earmarking the new space, thoughts and felt experience.  This is literally the work of rewiring your brain.

    • This helps to deepen each session, by creating new neural pathways, making it your default way of meeting any situation going forward.

  4. So each weekly session is a micro version of the macro changes experienced in the 6 months of coaching.  Meeting where we are in the moment - w/o judgement, Practicing and applying the tools, noticing and loving from our new perceptions/ understanding of the situation.

    • Ie: feeling good, trusting yourself, speaking up for your needs without shame or guilt, following your intuition, making sense what it is you are in control of in any situation, peace in the midst of the storm, letting more of you shine in the world

  5. After each session you receive a reflections email from me with notes and any suggestions for deepening your practice during the week

  6. The coaching program breakdown:

    • In the beginning - the very first few sessions are a time to allow the mind to ease into the shifts and changes you are going to experience.  Because the mind is brilliant it will “sniff out” any attempts to radically change it - however this is the very mechanism that causes all of the self attack, stuckness, self judgement in the first place.  Therefore, by introducing the ideas slowly and in a non-threatening way, the mind begins to see the benefits and trust the process.  At first, this can feel very “unsatisfactory” to the mind that has become used to wanting immediate, lasting change - like now! ;-)

  • In the middle - We will have begun to tailor the sessions to match your unique mind, your history and your entrenched thought patterns.  We are growing your ability to learn and master these tools for your own use and situations. Plus we will be integrating ideas and new ways of perceiving that will help guide and inform you after your coaching is complete.

  • In the completion - We will close with summarizing your progress, identify your specific methods and successes for integrating this practice.  Create potential future markers to accept the beauty of this on-going process!

The power of the client resources & support is having a place to goto for more:

  1. Additional worksheets/ guides

  2. Additional resources of helpful videos, book & other recommendations

Life coaching is different from therapy in that it focuses on your power in this moment, using your past to inform your future.   The focus is going about the work necessary to clear any blocks, negative self critique and beliefs about why you cannot be and live as your highest self - courageous, connected to purpose and love, from peace and compassion, joyful & grateful.  Personally - I have found deep change in both coaching and therapy.

Logistically, this coaching includes:

6 months of one on one coaching

tons of resources

blended thought work, inner awareness practice, self inquiry

22, one- hour long, sessions

Experientially it is life changing….here’s what clients say…

In their words…“Before working with Pete I was paralyzed by self-doubt in so many aspects of my life. After (the first) two weeks of working one on one, I felt the clarity and confidence in my needs and wants to advocate for myself at work. I had this inner turmoil around all these pain points for months without the true clarity I needed to ask for what I wanted. Pete’s method helped me get that clarity and find the courage and inner self-confidence to advocate for myself.”

- Katie

Coach & Physical Therapist

In their words…“My initial reason for working with Pete was because I had a history of being self critical.  A lasting shift is my ability to observe when I’m talking negatively or beating myself up.  This has inspired me to follow my dream of serving others!”

-Derek J.

Engineer, Teacher of Intuitive Medicine, Dad

In their words…“Working with Pete has allowed me to put myself as a focus. I’ve been able to process things in a different way and move forward. Pete is a very kind and caring individual. I find an ease in working with him and am able to open up quickly and work on what’s coming up.(Working with Pete) is totally worth the investment and I feel that I received more than I expected.”
